Biography

FREDERICK AUGUST PAUL POMMER, JR.
Born August 22, 1927 in Philadelphia to Frederick August Pommer, Sr. and wife Anna May Rush.
He joined the Navy during WWII and served in the South China Sea and was considered a „Tin Can Sailor“ deployed to the South China Sea on three different Destroyers (USS BORDELON, USS GAINARD, USS ABBOT) plus the Korean War. After his seven years of service in the Navy he joined the US Postal Service.
He passed away Nov. 6, 2011 just three months after his second wife Marie had passed. Both found their final resting place at the National Veteran‘s Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
